Wagnerian told CNN of a mercenary who was forced to dig his own grave and shot because he refused to storm

The CNN agency interviewed two Wagner PMC fighters who were captured by Ukrainians. They told about a mercenary who was forced to dig his own grave and shot because of his refusal to storm.

Captured Russians talked about the mass deaths of those recruited into PMCs. Those who refused to go on the assault were killed by the Wagnerites themselves, the prisoners say.
“One person remained in position, he was very scared, it was his first assault. We received an order to run forward. But this guy hid under a tree and refused. his own grave, and then he was shot,” one of the interlocutors told CNN
His colleague says that the killing of “refuseniks” was the rule in the PMC “Wagner”: “Our commander was told that if someone gets scared, he will have to be eliminated. And if we could not eliminate him, we would be eliminated for the fact that we couldn’t fix it.”
Former mercenaries complained that PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin deceived them. “He didn’t say anything about the danger,” one of the fighters said. They believed that they would fight with foreign mercenaries: “We did not think that there was someone left in the Ukrainian army. We thought that they had left the country.”
