Ukraine Uses More Shells than West Produces – Stoltenberg

According to the NATO Secretary General, the current level of ammunition spending is higher than the current level of production.

Ukraine in the course of hostilities with Russia uses from four to seven thousand artillery shells. Thus, Kyiv is ahead of the production of these ammunition in the West.

This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

“President Putin doesn’t plan peace, he plans war,” Stoltenberg said, adding that Russia is ramping up military production and turning to authoritarian regimes like Iran or North Korea and others to try to get more weapons.

Therefore, he called on the United States, Britain, France, Germany and other Western states to continue to support Ukraine with weapons, ammunition and spare parts for a long time.

“The need will continue to exist because this is a war of attrition; it is about industrial capacity,” the Secretary General said.

The fighting has now been so intense, he said, that Ukraine is using artillery shells – between 4,000 and 7,000 a day, compared to Russia’s 20,000, which is more than Western production.

“The current level of ammunition spending is higher than the current level of production,” Stoltenberg said.

Recall that the EU and the US have made important decisions on the transfer of ammunition to Ukraine. In particular, the European Union must provide a million ammunition.

The head of the Center for Military Legal Research, Alexander Musienko, said that the Russians simply do not have time to produce the required number of shells . Therefore, they beg for weapons around the world.

According to military expert Alexander Kovalenko, in 2-3 months the Russians will no longer have a “hunger”, but a “shell stroke” .
