Telegraph: Attacks on Russia’s Fortified Defenses Are the Only Offensive Option for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

As part of the counteroffensive, Ukrainian troops can only carry out frontal attacks on well-defended Russian positions. Retired British Army Colonel Richard Kemp writes about this in his article for the Telegraph.

The expert notes that the Russian armed forces, reinforced by mobilization and extensive defensive lines, are not going to retreat, and there is only one option left for Kyiv: to launch frontal attacks.

“This outcome leaves Kyiv vulnerable to changes in Western opinion… This is something [Ukraine’s] President Volodymyr Zelensky should be aware of; and which, perhaps, causes great horror, ”Kemp wrote.

According to the analyst, the strategy of frontal strikes “has been criticized at least since the First World War”, but Ukraine cannot “afford to philosophize”. Kemp wondered if Kyiv would be able to wage bloody attacks on Russia’s military defenses, some of the most extensive in the world, for many months or years.

Earlier, Zelensky, during his speech at the Aspen Security Forum, admitted that the pace of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not live up to expectations, writes the Radiotochka NSN Telegram channel .
