Ukrainian Media Sources Said That the Crimean Bridge Was Attacked by Surface Drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Naval Forces of Ukraine were involved in the explosion on the Crimean bridge on the night of July 17, sources in the SBU told Ukrainska Pravda and  RBC-Ukraine .

According to sources, the bridge was attacked using surface drones. “It was difficult to get to the bridge, but in the end we managed to do it,” a source told RBC-Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine posted on Telegram a slightly modified line from a Ukrainian lullaby. On the evening of July 16, the head of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky , warned that a “lullaby” was being prepared for the Russians.

The head of the parliament of the annexed Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, blamed Ukrainian forces for the attack on the Crimean bridge. “Tonight, the terrorist regime in Kyiv committed a new crime – it attacked the Crimean bridge,” Konstantinov wrote in a telegram.

On the night of July 17, an explosion occurred on the Crimean bridge, which, according to Russian authorities, killed two people and injured one. The traffic on the bridge has been stopped. The Armed Forces of Ukraine admitted that the explosion on the Crimean bridge was a provocation by the Russian Federation.

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasily Malyuk, said earlier that he considers the Crimean bridge a “quite legitimate target” for Ukraine, reminds RBC-Ukraine.

In October 2022, an explosion occurred on the Crimean bridge, due to which traffic on the bridge was disrupted. The FSB of Russia accused Ukrainian intelligence of organizing the explosion, they did not directly confirm this, but the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense included the explosion on the bridge among its successes in the first 500 days of a full-scale war.
