The aviation coalition will provide dozens of sites for training Ukrainian pilots on the F-16. The first group of pilots is ready to leave for retraining.
It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of the colonel, speaker of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat during the telethon.
“The first group of pilots is the first wave that will go for retraining, then the second, and so on. These are the pilots who will already undergo direct training with instructors in different countries that we have been provided with sites. We are talking about dozens. We are waiting for the first group to leave, the second will follow,” he said.
Ignat noted that Ukraine cannot send everyone for retraining and “perhaps we will not receive three squadrons at once either.”
“Let’s see how decisions will be made within the aviation coalition,” the speaker added.

F-16 for Ukraine
Earlier, Ukraine’s allies announced the creation of an aviation coalition to transfer modern fighters to the state, in particular, the F-16. The coalition is led by the Netherlands and Denmark. In addition, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that deliveries of Western aircraft could not be expected until the New Year . In particular, it was previously reported that the Czech Republic would help Ukraine with the training of pilots on F-16 fighters and donate attack helicopters.
