Gryzlov: The Russian Embassy in Minsk handed over a note on the grain deal to Ukraine

Russia gave Ukraine a note outlining Moscow’s position on the grain deal on the morning of July 17, Russian Ambassador to Minsk Boris Gryzlov said. According to him, the implementation of the initiative should be completely stopped from July 18.

“The document, in particular, says that Russia officially objects to the further extension of the initiative for the safe transportation of grain and food from the ports of Ukraine after its expiration date, in connection with which the implementation of the initiative should be completely terminated from July 18,” the press service of the Russian Embassy in Belarus quoted Gryzlov as saying .

The document also says that Moscow has repeatedly drawn attention to the fact that the deal has become a “commercial project” for Western countries. Moreover, the sea corridors, which are intended for the passage of ships with grain, were used by Kiev for attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation. During all this time, the West has not fulfilled its part of the obligations to our country. In particular, Rosselkhozbank was never reconnected to the SWIFT system, the diplomatic mission emphasized.

Recall that earlier the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the agreements on the grain deal had actually already been terminated, it had been stopped. The grain deal between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN was concluded on July 22, 2022, the agreement was extended twice. The agreement provides for the export of grain, food and fertilizers across the Black Sea within the framework of humanitarian corridors. Due to ignoring the Russian part of the document, the Russian Federation repeatedly warned about withdrawing from the deal.
