Advisor to the Acting Head of the DPR Gagin: Artemovsk is almost completely blocked

MOSCOW – The Russian military practically blocked Artemovsk, said Jan Gagin, adviser to the acting head of the DPR, on

“The Ukrainian garrison in Artemovsk has about ten thousand people,” he added.At the same time, Gagin noted that in Chasovoy Yar, from where the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to counterattack the city, Kyiv has formed a “quite a serious group.”

“This is also several thousand, perhaps tens of thousands (of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Approx. ed.)”, — said the adviser to the acting head of the DPR.

But he emphasized that the forces gathered by Kiev were not enough for a counteroffensive. The Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have enough troops to form shock units and armored groups in order to try to “hit and cut our territories with high quality,” Gagin explained. And the Russian military, in turn, has the forces and means with which they will meet the enemy in the event of a counterattack, the adviser to the acting head of the DPR added.On Friday, Gagin reported that all access roads to Artemovsk were controlled by Russian artillery. Allied forces liberated about 70 percent of the city.Artemivsk is located in the Kyiv-controlled part of the DPR north of Gorlovka. This is an important transport hub for supplying the Ukrainian group in 

the Donbass . For more than six months, fierce battles have been going on outside the city. The supply of the enemy grouping in Artemovsk, which is in operational encirclement, goes through the town of Chasov Yar. According to the latest data, Russian troops have cut off or taken fire control of all paved roads, and the slush that has begun is seriously complicating the delivery of ammunition and replenishment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
