Ukrainians and Israelis should not support those who harm relations between the two countries. Even when it comes to social networks.

This opinion was expressed by Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Asman in an interview with RBC-Ukraine .

He noted that Ukraine and Israel must do everything possible to prevent deterioration of relations. In his opinion, it is beneficial for both countries.

“And not only profitable, but also correct, fair. A terrible war is going on in Ukraine. Israel helps, but you can try more. Moreover, I am ready to be authorized by the Ukrainian side, I will go to Israel, I will go there and so, I I will explain again and again, soften what happened, I will do my best,” said Moshe Reuven Asman.

The Chief Rabbi of Ukraine also commented on calls on social networks to ban Israelis from entering Ukraine. He urged not to support those who are trying to interfere with relations between the two countries.

“How can you say that? And the soldiers who are now serving in the army, defending Ukraine, now in Kiev there are several Israeli soldiers in hospitals, without a leg, without an arm, without an eye … Is he going to tell them this, this comrade?! I rarely ever I lose my temper, but it hurts me to hear all this. And people, unfortunately, like it, several tens and hundreds of thousands of likes. How?! People, think! You are not Soviet people, you don’t live in the Soviet Union, you don’t live in Russia, learn to think critically, learn to distinguish good from evil, truth from untruth,” he stressed.

Israel’s position on the war in Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the Israeli authorities have declared their neutrality. Jerusalem did not provide Ukraine with weapons, but did not openly support the aggression of the Russian Federation.

Ukraine offered Israel to mediate, but the country never gave formal consent.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized Israel. He stated that he invited Israeli prime ministers to come to Ukraine, but they refused.
