The United States will continue to provide defense assistance packages to Ukraine under Presidential Authorization (PDA) in the near future; they will simply become smaller. At the same time, the Pentagon urges Congress to accept additional funding as soon as possible.

Singh’s direct speech : “We will continue to transfer packages, they are just getting smaller. Therefore, we are asking Congress to accept the request for additional appropriations that the President sent so that we can continue to meet the needs of Ukraine on the battlefield,” the Pentagon spokeswoman said.

Details: She clarified the estimates announced the day before by the White House, noting that the United States has already used more than 95% of the total $62.3 billion that has been allocated to support Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. Singh recalled that the administration has already used all Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funds and has about $1 billion more in reserve for PDA packages.

In addition, according to her, Ukraine relies on the support of other countries: “Last month we had a meeting of the contact group (in the Ramstein format – ed.), in mid-November there will be another meeting of the Contact Group on the defense of Ukraine. Allies and partners continue to support Ukraine, we continue to support Ukraine with what it needs in the fight.”
